20 Gladstone St was slowly slipping into disrepair before a fire swept through leaving blackened weatherboards. When I drew it, the temporary fencing was still up, with a stark ‘Keep Out’ sign. Not long after I finished the drawing, the whole place was demolished, leaving only an empty block behind. This one captures that brief moment between collapse and disappearance.
